About Mogadishu University
Established in 1997 amidst the chaos of Mogadishu’s civil war, Mogadishu University (MU) faced numerous setbacks, from looting to forced relocations. Despite the adversity, its founders established a non-state, non-profit university in Somalia, aiming to provide quality education and foster societal change. From its humble beginnings in a privately owned house to its relocation to the abandoned school building of Mohamud Ahmed Ali, MU’s journey symbolizes resilience in the face of turmoil.
