About Alpha University College
Alpha University College (AUC) traces its origins back to 1981 when it emerged from a distance education initiative to provide vocational and technical training to those unable to attend traditional classes. Initially recognized by the Ministry of Education as the Institution of National Vocational and Technical Distance Education Enterprise, it offered programs such as Auto Mechanics, General Mechanics, Woodwork, and Home Economics, among others. In 1994, this initiative evolved into Alpha Education and Training Share Company (AETSCO), founded by Ethiopian businessmen and professionals committed to providing accessible and quality education. Since then, AETSCO has expanded its offerings to accredited distance higher education programs, catering to thousands of students in various fields, including Economics, Business Management, and Information Technology.
