About Hope Africa University
Founded on February 6th, 2000, in Nairobi, Kenya, by the Free Methodist Church, Hope Africa University (HAU) transitioned to Bujumbura, Burundi, in December 2003, officially opening its doors on February 2nd, 2004. Situated in Ngagara, Quartier 2, No 173, HAU established its headquarters and expanded its reach with the inauguration of the Mweya Campus in Gitega, the heart of Burundi, in February 2012. The institution received official recognition from the Burundian government under Ministry Order No. 610/1379 dated September 26th, 2003, and Authorization No. 610/1113 issued on August 16th, 2005, affirming the equivalence of degrees conferred by HAU.
